The Orcas Island Film Festival is a film lovers' dream with over 30 buzz-worthy, brand new films screened in state of the art cinemas in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Past films have garnered a total of 51 Academy Award nominations and 9 Oscar wins including: Roma, RBG, Capernaum, Shoplifters, Cold War, Free Solo, Border, Darkest Hour, The Square, Manchester By The Sea, The Salesman, Room, The Imitation Game and Son of Saul along with critically acclaimed films such as Loving, Florida Project, Faces Places and more. Attendees will see these films before their official theatrical release and the festival provides a unique opportunity for filmmakers and film lovers to connect and share the cinematic experience as well as parties and special events. Join us for our opening night Red Carpet Soiree. This is the official opening of the festival, a red carpet affair where guests meet and greet visiting artists, directors, writers, actors and producers along with other film buffs. Soiree includes irresistible hors d’ oeuvres and a no-host bar with delicious local wines & craft beers. This is one you can dress up for and have fun getting your photo professionally taken as you walk the red carpet. The Soiree is Free for Festival / Patron pass holders.
