Reduction Screen Printing

Sat, Nov 2, 2019 at 10am

This event has passed.

Learn how to create a multi-color multi-layered print with just one screen. We'll be expanding on techniques learned from our DIY Screen Printing class and students should either have taken this class or should get instructor permission (email maxx@pushpullseattle.com). Class fee includes all materials, inks, printing paper and fabrics.

Sample art is a reduction screen print using 4 colors. Students will create a similar project during this 4 hour class. You will have the opportunity for a food/lunch break and are welcome to store food in our refrigerator and use our kitchen for meal prep (microwave, toaster over, sink).

Students 14+ are welcome, under 8+ are welcome with a ticketed adult participant.

We will be printing mostly on paper and fabric. Designs will be approximately 3" x 5". Students may come with a design idea, though that is not necessary. The first portion of class will be reviewing and creating our designs.

About the instructor: Maxx Follis-Goodkind is an interdisciplinary artist with a passion for printmaking. She loves learning new ways to use the same tools and instantly fell for reduction screen printing. Maxx is the Director of Push/Pull and has been teaching a variety of classes since 2016.
