Online ticket sales have ended. Tickets for the Reading only will be available at the door at 12:15pm on 2/17/13 for $10.

The Better Bombshell asks writers and artists to answer a simple question: Who is the better bombshell?

Meet the artists of The Better Bombshell before they go on stage! Sip mimosas, enjoy brunch hors d’oeuvres, and get up close and personal with the original art from this groundbreaking book. Artists and writers will be available for questions and intimate discussion. Ask about their artwork, learn about their creative process, and let them sign your book!

The Better Bombshell is as innovative in its approach as it is bold in its goal. It draws from a creative and intellectual community to fill a glaring void in modern media: the lack of positive, multidimensional female role models. Who do today’s young women admire? Who do today’s men covet? What earns our envy and our celebration, our lust and our love? In a world where women are more important than ever before, the media continues to shower us with images of modern women that don’t reflect our new truths.

The Better Bombshell is a newly released book that asks nineteen teams — each consisting of a writer and a visual artist — to redefine the female role model. At this multimedia reading and question-and-answer session, the writers and artists of The Better Bombshell talk about their art, their process of collaboration, and the questions they’re asking about their favorite subject: sexy women.

Special appearances by Heather Fowler, Elisa Lazo de Valdez, Anita Goodman, Shyn Midili, and Hanna Brooks Olsen.
