The evening show will be Buster Keaton’s “The Cameraman” (1928)
This is the first film that Buster made after signing with MGM and the last film that he had any creative control over. It’s a sweet tale of determination and love as only Buster can tell it (with no spoken words!) for which M&K were commissioned to compose a new score by the Frank Buxton Silent Film Festival (FBSFF) 2019 in conjunction with The Bainbridge Island Museum of Art and the San Francisco Silent Film Festival.

M&K have been commissioned several times to compose new music for films – 3 separate times by the Northwest Film Forum, once by SIFF (Seattle International Film Festival) for the Hitchcock 9 series and twice by FBSFF and have toured their scores with films across the US, Canada and Australia. They are known for their attention to plot and mood and always contribute to the films as if they were collaborating with the filmmaker.
