FLATBED BUGGY is an acoustic jazz ensemble incorporating an unusual grouping of instruments for the purpose of capturing an outdoor, countryside feeling. The music's woodsy tones and airy grooves have received great reviews from pleased listeners and critics. Called "..a true masterpiece..." by Nextbop.com, FLATBED BUGGY celebrates time and journeys. Motivated by Rudy Royston's memories of childhood in the Texas countryside to adulthood experiences in the concrete surroundings of New York City, this music explores a varying array of musical influences and styles under the canopy of jazz. You're sure to find something to your liking from this ensemble.

FBB is comprised of outstanding musicians and composers who are well established in their trades: Gary Versace plays accordion, John Ellis plays bass clarinet and saxes, Joe Martin plays bass and Hank Roberts plays cello. This band has a unique sound achieved by musicians with unique compositional approaches of expressing music. What is left is a music that evokes beautiful imagery, fun, groove, joy and celebration of life.
