Seattle trumpeter Jared Hall presents his polished quintet, performing a blend of colorful arrangements and engaging original compositions from his new album release, “Seen on the Scene” (Origin Records, 2021). The Spokane-native arrived in Seattle in 2015 after completing studies with mercurial trumpet ace Brian Lynch and, almost immediately, scored a residency at Tula’s, the city’s legendary jazz spot. Sporting new compositions and a new recording on Lynch’s Hollistic MusicWorks label, Hall went about establishing himself on the vibrant Seattle scene, establishing many working and social relationships with the Seattle stalwarts which make up his ensemble. Hall’s music always explores a variety of moods and themes. “Thinker” is full of jovial curiosity in honor of the birth of his son, “Seen on the Scene” is urgent & urban, and Francis Lai’s “Theme from Love Story” is rich with romantic poignancy. Hall brings classic sounds all around with a touch of intimacy and smooth tones.  The evening features:

Jared Hall – trumpet / flugelhorn / compositions

Mark Taylor – alto saxophone

John Hansen – piano

Michael Glynn – upright bass

Matt Jorgensen – drums
