When you listen to the music of the irreverent Seattle-based rock ‘n’ roll group, Craptastica, it’s like you’re skiing on an Interstate highway, holding onto a chain bolted to an all-black Cadillac, giant all-black speakers blaring into the star-speckled sky. You’re going 60 mph. Your hips sway, your feet shimmy on your highway skies. You pull a parachute and all of a sudden you’re flying as music rushes upward, blowing against your smiling cheeks.

The Emerald City three-piece band - comprised of attack-minded drummer Brian Lemon, thumping bassist Gretchen Lemon and supped-up guitarist Jeff Isaacs on guitar - play hard-hitting anthems with two intents: to get your moving and to bolster that shit-eating grin spread over your lips. Chunky chords mix with driving percussion and empowering vocals that say, “Baby, just move yo’self.”

Craptastica played its first gig summer 2019 and has been frantically spreading its sonic shimmy ever since in venues around the city.
