Sophie Price, Seattle singer/songwriter, performs her debut album “Even Birds” at the Royal Room 2/24. As a gay woman, Price reflects on her decade-long journey of self-discovery from the confines of Orthodox Judaism to her acceptance of her identity. Though not in chronological order, many of the songs deeply reflect upon her journey.

Opening the evening will be The Rookery, a PNW indie-rock music project. The project launched in 2019 with recording the band-lead’s debut album, False Identities. Later released in February 2021, the music is still fresh to the ears of Seattle given the recurrent impact of Covid-19 on music venues. The album, which was written during the onset of Brooke’s healing journey, reflects on and highlights the realities of living in a traumatized state of mind. With influences from the Cranberries, Pearl Jam, and NIN from her upbringing, you can expect a vibey, full-souled, 90’s-esque music experience.
