Join us for the July Songwriter's Round at the Royal Room, featuring Abby K, Paula Boggs, Aline & Wes, Wes Speight, and Sean Morse.

Abby K draws upon many influences in her music from her childhood days in Kentucky and is hard to categorize. She is not pop. She is not country. She is not rock. Nor is she alternative or folk. Her sound is nostalgic and modern in the same breath. She conveniently short-hands it as "Heart-Rock". Her melodies are instantly hummable and imminently memorable, and her stories will hit you smack dab in the heart.

Paula Boggs is front woman and songwriter for  “Seattle-Brewed Soulgrass” Paula Boggs Band, now in its 15th year. For this special evening band member Darren Loucas will join Paula to play and share stories from their 4th album, 2022’s “Janus,” with “deeply personal themes of ancestry, memory, and love. The storytelling on this record will pull you in, but it’s the musicianship that ultimately takes center stage, thanks to an elegant, groove-laden soundscape crafted by an all-star backing band." - No Depression Magazine

Dual stars glowing in the dark night sky, Aline Vida and Wes Speight blend the best of their musical essences to present a single-minded glow that illuminates everything around them. Powerful, poignant vocals tumble with gravelly electric guitars to bring forth an illuminated sound both new and numinous. It shines.

Speight, originally from Tennessee, is an intuitive arranger and pointed vocalist as creative in his songwriting as he is in his instrumentation. Equally comfortable headlining a summer festival as he is playing a dive bar at sunrise morning, Speight is a multi-talented musician and prolific songwriter. He has, on occasion, had world-famous artists paint Sasquatch portraits as he plays on stage.

Sean Morse has been performing in the Seattle area since relocating from Denver in 2011. He is a regular contributor to the Bushwick Book Club Seattle, and loves taking inspiration from literature in his songwriting. With a focus on the exploration of the internal lives of his characters, Sean delivers dynamism through stunning vocals and driving guitar. Sean is no stranger to stages from house concerts and dance halls. He sings personal songs, returning to the small-town stories by way of his classical music roots. As a guitarist, Sean blends Folk and Blues (and the occasional Jazz) into the perfect accompaniment for his stories.
