Dance the night away with this tribute to the Great Womxn of Disco, featuring fabulous vocalists Adra Boo, Taryn Dorsey, Najamoniq, Princella Ray, and Alex Rose, and an all star band with Marina Albero, Jane Covert-Bowlds, Emily Harris, Ursula Stewart, and Aimee Zoe.

DJ Silk Safari of Base Tan will close out the night.

Seattle soul singer, emcee, curator, coach, City of Seattle Music Commissioner and Black Auntie, Adra Boo, navigates many spaces, wearing many hats! Musically, she’s been a singer/songwriter for indie-soul duo Fly Moon Royalty and new-wave-noir band Hotels, and as a solo entertainer, recording with a variety of Seattle staples. As an emcee, Adra has captivated small and large audiences alike for a number of events and organizations including The GSBA, YWCA, Rain City Rock Camp, Artist Home, City of Seattle, City of Redmond, multiple Pride orgs, and more. Boo has also performed as a member of both Simone Pin Productions and Dark Diamonds Burlesque, and she’s shared stages with local and internationally known music and burlesque performers. She is also the creator of #BlackHotSunday, events and showcases focused on Black music, Black vendors, and Blackness to the front! A veteran performer on a myriad of stages, Boo has been compared to timeless musicians like Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner, unafraid to ruffle feathers or rouse would-be audiences. And while all of these efforts cause her to stand out in the city, it’s her work as an artistic liaison that has made her a local legend.

Her goal is to create a space where black and brown folks are  recognized and uplifted in the arts.

Najamoniq Todd is a rare breed of integrative artist that draws bridges between worlds. A singer rooted in the rich soil of gospel, jazz and blues, she blends fundamentals into her own musical fabric. Backed by homespun house beats and distorted guitars she delivers indie-soul anthems about freedom and self-love, inspiring her audience to dance it off, dream big and heal by overcoming obstacles and swerving on haters. When she’s not instigating dance parties she is crushing the business world as owner & CEO of her own beauty salon, Mirror Ready Glam, while settling the score on outmoded beauty standards as a plus-size model in her spare time. She lives with her partner and musical collaborator, Tony Jones in Tacoma.

Princella Ray joined her first band in 2006 and has continued to be a force in the Seattle music scene and beyond, touring the States, Europe, and Japan. Her current band, RUB, blends synth-pop with guitars, bass and drums, and layered harmonies.

Alex Rose is an exuberant singer and bandleader who fronts Latin pop and soul band The Pazific. She is a second-generation Californian with Mexican and French Canadian roots. Alex has performed, written, and recorded with groups including Eldridge Gravy & The Court Supreme, Jefferson Rose Band, and R E P O S A D O, as well as for independent film scores. She has produced numerous events to connect the dots in the Seattle arts scene, supporting fellow creatives from the earliest stages of their careers to the veterans looking to keep their skills sharp and their networks fresh.
