Seattle Jazz Guitarist Frank Kohl is proud to release his seventh CD “Pacific” on the esteemed Origin Record Label. Frank has spent a lifetime perfecting the art of Jazz Guitar. Born and raised in NY and a Berklee College of Music graduate Frank has been apart of the Seattle, NY and California Jazz scene for many years. Frank has performed or recorded with such notable players as Bassists Steve LaSpina, Michael Moore Guitarist John Stowell and Saxophonist Donny McCaslin. In NY he has had multiple performances at Smalls, Mezzrow’s, The Triad Theatre and Maureen’s Jazz Cellar. In the Northwest Frank has performed at Washington Center For The Arts, Vashon Art Center, Earshot Jazz Festival, The Four Seasons, The Jazz Station and Tulas.
Bill Milkowski- Jazz Writer and co-author of “Hear And Now”- the autobiography of Pat Martino has said of Frank “In Kohl’s hands each tune is an expedition and his patient painterly approach uncovers jewels….. throughout “Pacific” Kohl caresses these deeply ingrained melodies with uncommon eloquence and a kind of expressive abandon.
