This event has passed.

We’ve all seen it. When D/S is portrayed online, in books and in the media we see the well-trained submissive bowing perfectly to every demand of their dominant. We admire their beautiful stance and flawless comportment, clearly the result of hours of position training. We marvel at the training that results in such exquisite service to the dominant’s guests. And we can only guess at the submissive’s skill in satisfying their dominant’s every sexual desire.

Sounds great, yes? In fantasy, these moments appear magically, effortlessly, as if the submissive was born perfect.

What really happens though? The answer is: training. Mostly this is the dominant training the submissive, but it’s also (gasp) the submissive training the dominant.

Training is a complex and satisfying journey. It begins with self-awareness, detailed negotiation, and clear consent. It offers opportunities for exploration, hard work, extended scenes, and open communication.

Training a submissive can be one of the most rewarding aspects of a D/S relationship. It’s an opportunity to contribute to and shape another human being, calling forth architypes like Teacher, Parent and Wizard.

This workshop explores the many facets of D/S training, to include:

  • Physical training (e.g. posture and position training)
  • Transformations (e.g. pet or pony play)
  • Training for service
  • Training for obedience
  • Sexual training
  • Specialty skills like bootblacking
  • Training new submissives vs. experienced submissives
  • Training in a relationship vs. the types of training that you might consider on a first date
  • Correction and punishment
  • The ways submissives train dominants - and why that's a good thing

This is all about building connection, confidence, and intimacy.

Workshop format

This workshop is packed with tools for tops and bottoms, and includes demonstrations, exercises, and lots to think about.  A practice partner is not required for this workshop.

Max's classes always have a handout, and you'll receive yours as part of your welcome packet after you register. The handout is designed to reinforce the online instruction. It will help you remember the content, and will facilitate whatever training you choose to do with your partner.

As always, the emphasis is on learning and having fun.

This workshop is part of the D/S Series Max has taught several times since 2013. Each class in the series can be taken independently; there are no prerequisites for any of the classes. Follow-on classes will include:

  • Building Power Through Language and Suggestion
  • Manifesting D/S Through Role Play
  • Top Ten Skills for Successful D/S
  • The Many Faces of D/S
  • Constructing Successful D/S Scenes: Using What You Have to Get What You Want

Who should attend?

This workshop assumes no previous BDSM experience and is appropriate for all genders, all orientations, and for both tops and bottoms.

If you're interested in training or exploring power dynamics within a consensual relationship, this workshop is for you.

Afterwards

Attendees will receive a handout full of technique and resources. Subsequent classes in the series will address complementary D/S skills.

Max also offers private coaching. These sessions are completely customized to meet your needs and desires. Contact Max to discuss these offerings.
