Cherrie Adams and the Forman-Finley Band, a jazz sextet, started playing together in 2014. Cherrie, a longtime music educator for Seattle Public Schools was happy to return to her roots singing jazz, and playing a variety of club dates, concerts, Jazz festivals, and private events. They also recorded the CD “Only Trust Your Heart” in 2015.
Cherrie’s warm, pure tone and understated, conversational style combined with her deep connection with the music, all contribute to her compelling authentic style. The band, with Steve Forman-Guitar, Paul Finley-piano, Rick Leppanen-bass, Clif Swiggett-trombone, and Jeff Busch-drums, help each song find fresh and often surprising moments through their arrangements of both jazz standards and original music.
