Foleada is a six-piece band based in Seattle that plays Forró, the rhythmic Brazilian music and the popular partner dance of the same name. Featuring charismatic Brazilian vocalist/percussionist Adriana Giordano, the music is led by accordionists Jamie Maschler and Gabe Hall-Rodrigues, joined by Michael Catts on bass, percussionists Jeff Busch and Sam Esecson on zabumba (Afro-Brazilian drum) and pandeiro (Brazilian tambourine).
Foleada delivers music with a rich range of Forró rhythms and tempos, from fast and feisty to slow and bluesy. You can dance Forró style, or bring out the swing and slow-dance moves you already know, or just relax and groove.
We love bringing the vital energy of Forró to new audiences and getting everyone out on the dance floor!
