The Royal Room Presents: Sunday Songwriter Session: Mother's Day Edition

Featuring:
Leanne Wilkins
Jade Teather
Carrie Jennings
Victoria Fragoso

Stories and songs from some of the PNW's best. Our songwriters have been encouraged to share songs written about motherhood, or about their own mothers. Come hear beautiful songs served up in an intimate environment with gorgeous sound, a tasty food menu, and a full bar. The Royal Room is family friendly until 10pm. Young ones are very welcome!

Since 1998, Leanne Wilkins has captivated audiences with her haunting melodies and lyrical depth. The Seattle-based artist’s latest project, Leanne Wilkins & the Weathered, blends roots rock with blues and soul influences, channeling a style that’s deeply personal and universally resonant. The Weathered recently released their full-length album, The Art of Letting Go, a collection of songs exploring themes of death and rebirth, pain and redemption, shadow and light. Written during the pandemic, The Art of Letting Go took Leanne on a journey back to her roots, reconnecting with her love of piano and reflecting on the complexities of becoming a mother amid a time of widespread division. With The Art of Letting Go, Leanne and her band explore the many faces of love and self-acceptance, blending classic rock influences with modern soul for a listening experience that is as emotionally complex as it is musically rich.

Carrie Jennings is a vocalist & flugelhorn player based in Seattle, WA. Her music is powerful and sultry, combining soulful horn lines, potent lyrics, and indie singer-songwriter aesthetics. Her performances are both tender and bold, with spellbinding vocals, lush instrumentals, and endearing stage banter. She is a storyteller and groove maker inviting people together to explore the depths of our human experience through song. @carriejenningsmusic

Armed with just her vocal prowess and trusty acoustic guitar, Jade Teather is a singer-songwriter who expertly crafts intriguing, thought-provoking songs with big words & big feelings. Her debut EP “Melomania” was released in 2018 and available everywhere you listen to music. Teather creates sounds similar to greats like early Angel Olsen, Courtney Barnett, Phoebe Bridgers, and others in that the listener is drawn into the artist’s compelling lyricism over minimalist, but elegant instrumentals.  In addition to her passion for performing, writing, and recording music, Jade is passionate about teaching music and sharing a love of music with others.
