Día de los Muertos con la Pazific

Come have dinner and join in on some family friendly activities starting at 7pm and dancing with The Pazific starting at 8:30pm!

The Pazific creates tropical movement music with a latin psychedelic twist for people looking to feel so free they can’t help but let loose. When our music comes on you’ll be dancing before you know it, transported to a place of joy where you can connect to those around you.

The 8-piece band is led by Seattle-based duo Alex and Jefferson Rose. Much of their music is influenced by Alex's Mexican heritage and California upbringing, and Jefferson's time living and making music in Latin America and Spain.

The Pazific also often works with filmmakers, dancers, visual artists, poets, and photographers, with the explicit goal of using music as a connection point to create powerful, unexpected artistic collaborations.

El Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a day of celebration, particularly for the people in Mexico and Central America, and for many throughout the United States. It is a day to honor and commemorate the lives of the dearly departed and to welcome the return of their spirits.

The tradition of the Day of the Dead is rooted in Indigenous and Spanish Catholic ritual customs. Today, this celebration has been increasingly popular among Latinos in the United States. Though many of the traditional elements have remained, the way and where the Day of the Dead is celebrated has changed. However, the unity of life and death continues to be the dominant theme of the art, tradition, and rituals of the annual celebration of the Day of the Dead on Nov. 1- 2, both in Mexico and the United States.

If you want to discover more about this tradition visit the Día de Muertos Festival at Seattle Center Festál in the daytime.
