Songs for Lonely Hearts and Lovers:

Experience an evening of intimate storytelling and eloquent musicianship at The Royal Room in Seattle, featuring a collaborative performance by singer-songwriters Becky Shaw and Sheryl Wiser on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

The Performers:

Becky Shaw (Decatur, GA): Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Becky Shaw has been a mainstay of the Atlanta music scene since moving from Seattle in 1989. Based in Decatur, Georgia, Shaw's songs—at once lush and sparse—draw from her roots in the Pacific Northwest and include influences of folk, Americana, rock, and old country gospel.  Shaw brings a soulful, hypnotically beautiful voice to the stage, and her live performances are guided by her personal motto: "Be The Song." Whether commanding a listening room or creating intimacy in a house concert setting, she has a rare gift for connection that keeps audiences coming back. Her songs explore universal themes of love, loss, belonging, and human connection, delivered with the authenticity of someone who's lived every word.

Sheryl Wiser (Seattle, WA): A staple of the Seattle music community, Wiser delivers a compelling blend of Americana, blues, and folk-jazz. Armed with her signature Parker Fly guitar, she is known for a rhythmic guitar skill and a warm, vibrant vocal style that reflects decades of performance and activism. A veteran of the ’90s alt-country/Americana band Somebody’s Daughter, and now a recognized solo artist, she is a well-regarded songwriter, combining keen observations with an emotional richness and depth. The Seattle Times writes, "Wiser's music is sharp and clean, featuring her sweet, powerful voice tempered by rich, stunning melody. She writes emotional, rhythmically stirring songs and delivers them with genuine passion." Wiser enters 2026 coming off a banner year of live performances and is currently recording her first new album in 30 years with noted songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Tomo Nakayama in January 2026, with a release date slated for later in the year.
