Club Shostakovich XV - The Final Quartet and The Lost Composers. To celebrate Shostakovich's last quartet and his deep impact on 20th century music, we're featuring music by composers murdered in World War II whose music might have profoundly altered the sound of the century. String Trios and Quartets by Hans Krása, Erwin Schulhoff and Pavel Haas will be performed by Trio Pardalote and the Girsky Quartet with guest violist Joseph Gottesman. Violinist Blayne Barnes joins Heather Bentley and Rowena Hammill with the illustrious Misha Shmidt leading Shostakovich's 15th Quartet, which premiered less than a year before his death. Comprising 6 slow movements and clocking in at 36 minutes, it is the longest of the 15 quartets, and also one of the most transcendent. We're extremely proud and grateful to be wrapping up this cycle in the same place we started in July of 2012, at the beloved Royal Room.

Please note: Tickets do not guarantee seating during shows at the Royal Room. For sold out shows standing room may be the only available space. Please come early to ensure you get a table. Reservations can be made for those who are coming for dinner as well as the show. The Royal Room is All Ages until 10pm.
