Besty Olson Band:
Betsy Olson is a Seattle based blues/rock musician pulling influences from Led Zeppelin, Bonnie Raitt and Jimi Hendrix. She plays in a 4-piece band with Sera Cahoone on drums, Rebecca Young on bass and Moe Provencher on rhythm guitar and harmonica.
Led to Sea:
Violinist, Violist, Composer and Songwriter Alex Guy is the leader and principal songwriter for Led To Sea, a magnetic chamber-pop trio that fuses classical, pop and experimental music. Their live show has captivated audiences all over the U.S. and Europe, and draws comparisons to St. Vincent and Andrew Byrd. As a musician Alex has performed and collaborated with a virtual whose who of important bandleaders, composers, improvisers and jazz musicians in the Pacific NW and beyond. Notable collaborators include Sera Cahoone, Jerek Bischoff, Laura Veirs, Ahamefule Olou, Tucker Martine, Wayne Horvitz, The Seattle Rock Orchestra, Mirah, Amanda Palmer, Xiu Xiu, Paranthetical Girls and many more.
Rae is a new group led by bassist Abbey Blackwell, with the understated playing of Ronan Delisle on guitar. Abbey has compiled a set of vignettes with lyrical tunes and sometimes jarring harmonies that complement each other, offering relatable melodies with an avant-garde undercurrent.
As a musician, Abbey has performed with pop and rock groups including La Luz, Great Spiders, and Thousands, in addition to recording on soundtracks and studio albums by Myrkur, Shana Cleveland, Skyler Skjelset, and Macklemore, among others. She is currently in the Master of Music in Jazz and Improvised Music program at UW.
