Considered to be the defining jazz recording of all time, John Coltrane and his equally innovative quartet (McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison, Elvin Jones) recorded the album A Love Supreme in 1964 on Impulse Records.

Evan Flory-Barnes: Bass Seattle bassist, composer, singer/songwriter, performer, artist, living in Seattle. His music covers the range from Debussy to Dilla, Bartok to Bjork, Wayne Shorter to Q-tip. Mr. Flory-Barnes brings intense devotion and infectious joy to all of his musical endeavors be conducting an orchestra,singing soul music or playing solo bass. The feeling is paramount. Evan has performed with Billy Hart, Chico Freeman, Stanley Jordan, Industrial Revelation, Skerik, Marc Seales, Moyes Lucas, Wayne Horvitz, Jovino Santos Neto and Meklit Hadero.
Marina Albero: Piano Marina Albero burst onto the Seattle jazz scene in September of 2014. Since that time she has energized the scene with her quartet, and in duo and solo piano performance. Her style reflects her musical journey that began with touring the world as a child with her musical family, to her teen years spent studying in Cuba, to her association with flamenco forms in Spain. The listener can hear a world of music in her playing, from jazz, to classical, to flamenco, and undeniably, the afro Cuban rhythms that are so foundational in jazz music.
Darian Asplund: Saxophone Raised in the Northwest, Darian contributes fresh sounds and exciting ideas with moments of warmth, intensity, suspense and passion. Darians repertoire includes a wide range of styles and genres from contemporary to traditional. Darian is currently performing tenor sax/flute/EWI with the Farko Collective, or soprano sax with the ISTVAN and FARKO, or with his own Darian Asplundh Group. Darian has the pleasure to perform with: The Rerun Band, Spyn Reset, Mycle Wastman Band, Darrius Willrich Band, Allen Stone Band, Tim Kennedy Quintet, Dave Abramson Trio, as well as Marmalade and Spellbinder with Santana drummer Mike Shrieve.
John Hanrahan: A veteran of the creatively fecund Chicago jazz scene, Santa Cruz-based drummer John Hanrahan has made a strong impression in the area with his quartet’s galvanizing performances of John Coltrane’s prayerful masterpiece A Love Supreme. He gets an early start celebrating the golden anniversary of an epochal musical year with “Sounds from ’67—Miles to McCoy, Jimi to The Beatles,” a program celebrating some of the recordings that defined a transitional era, as rock embraced psychedelia and jazz musicians explored new structures and forms. The J Hanrahan Quartet performed A Love Supreme for the 50th anniversary of the iconic recording at The Monterey Jazz Festival in 2014.
