Gregg Belisle-Chi is a guitarist and composer in Brooklyn, NY. He maintains an active career as a band leader, sideman, and educator. Book of Hours is a 50 minute through-composed piece with elements of improvisation and inspiration taken from the Latin Mass Ordinary. The record, to be officially released on May 3 through ears&eyes records, features a quartet of guitar, keys, bass, and drums.

“On this expansive and ambitious album Gregg Belisle-Chi strikes an engaging balance between lyricism and dissonance, with strong performances from everyone involved. Highly recommended.” -Ben Monder

“The first time I got together to play with Gregg one afternoon, I had an immediate sense of his musicality and compositional approach to improvising. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of hearing Gregg and his band perform his compositions on a couple of occasions before they recorded. Book of Hours is a beautiful collection of music that blends rich sounds and textures, where composition and improvisation seamlessly meet.” -Steve Cardenas
