Alma y Azúcar masterfully integrates beloved Latin rhythmic styles–Cha Cha, Latin Jazz, Mexican boleros, Son and Salsa with more contemporary influences, resulting in “Latin music for everyone.” The band features the music of “La Reina de la Salsa”, Celia Cruz. With Alma Villegas at the front, the band also includes esteemed Seattle musicians Fred Hoadley (piano, tres, backup vocals), Steve Okimoto (bass), Ricardo Guity (percussion, backup vocals), Steve Motsovoy (trumpet, backup vocals), Roy Brown (trombone) and Lance Lu (shekere).

with Abel Rocha, Madeleine Sosin & Amy Denio is an award winning Latin American music group. Their traditional & original compositions combine a stunning array of string, reed and percussive instruments with silken vocal harmonies described as “…locked in carnal embrace.” by the Austin Chronicle.
Their music is richly polyrhythmic and soulfully melodic. Fiery, haunting, joyful - gorgeous!
Please note: Tickets do not guarantee seating during shows at the Royal Room. For sold out shows standing room may be the only available space. Please come early to ensure you get a table. Reservations can be made for those who are coming for dinner as well as the show. The Royal Room is All Ages until 10pm.
