"Contact Improvisation is an open-ended exploration of the kinesthetic possibilities of bodies moving through contact. Sometimes wild and athletic, sometimes quiet and meditative, it is a form open to all bodies and inquiring minds." —Ray Chung, workshop announcement, London, 2009

Want to feel more awareness in your body, more connection with others, deeper and more subtle levels of listening and receiving?

In this 2-hour class we will explore the fundamentals of contact improvisation, a unique movement & dance form based on presence in the body, deep listening, trust and dynamic intimacy. There will be guided exercises using meditation, gentle movement both solo and partnered, and plenty of opportunity to express yourself in dance and stillness. We’ll explore feeling connected directly to self, entering connection with another while staying present, feeling curious, being playful, and navigating choice-making.

All bodies, regardless of age, ability or fitness level are welcome to attend. Participants will be encouraged to choose their level of participation. You may attend solo or with partner/s. Please come dressed in clothing you can move in easily, and bring a journal.
Space is limited, register early!

"When we take the time to be present, intimate with our own breath, our own pulse, and our own stillness we get rare and lovely access into a realm of sweetness, richness and pleasure of one’s own body" —Rosalind G.

When: 6:30PM to 8:30PM
