Consent advocates help create more consensual spaces by educating and providing support when something goes wrong with consent. It's a specialized role most people can learn to do with the proper training, support, and practice.

This training will cover the skills needed to do this work, including communication, intervention, and conflict resolution and more:

- The expectations & basics of the consent advocate role

- Communication and active listening skills

- Working with trauma and people caught in acute trauma reactions

- Consent-Focused Psychological First Aid

- Basic intervention skills

This training has been adapted from the Consent Academy's consent advocate trainings with specific information for SEAF volunteers.

The Consent Academy is an educational collective founded in 2016 in Seattle, WA, currently with staff and volunteers all over the world. We believe consent is a part of everyday life, and its practice builds stronger, safer, and more connected communities. Our approach incorporates disciplines of psychology, sociology, public health, psychotherapy, and personal coaching to create a systemic view of how consent impacts everyone, from the bedroom to the boardroom.

The Consent Academy is a program of the Pan Eros Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization. All of our profits support our educational programming.
