Accountability processes and pods have the potential to repair relationships and strengthen communities. At the same time, they are also very specific, time and labor intensive methods of creating accountability with plenty of risks associated with them. 

This spring, join the Consent Academy for a series on the skills and knowledge needed to increase your chances of a successful accountability process or pod. Each class will be recorded for later viewing.

April 13 - Intro to Accountability Processes

Do you believe people who cause harm can change? How do they do it? How can they repair the harm they caused? And can they ever rebuild trust with their community?

Intro to Accountability Processes is an introduction to what an accountability process is, how you guide and document one, and how you know it’s finished. If you’ve ever grappled with questions like the ones above, this workshop will help you gain clarity and plan a path forward for responding to harm.

April 20 - Accountability Pods

Do you have a group of people you trust to help you take accountability?

Accountability pods are often discussed in conversations around restorative and transformative justice, but what are they really? What do they actually do? Who should be in one? And do they even work?

Join us for a workshop on the foundational knowledge you need to set up your own accountability pod. We’ll discuss how accountability pods can help you grow, improve your consent practices, and feel more connected to an actual community.

April 27 - A Deeper Dive into Accountability Processes

What does a successful accountability process look like? 

For those interested in responding to harm in their immediate communities, there aren’t a lot of examples to guide you in creating and sustaining an accountability process. It makes sense that many attempts to find justice outside of the criminal justice system simply end up recreating much of the same harms and limitations. Join us for a workshop that dives deeper into accountability processes, exploring examples for what to do, pitfalls to avoid, and how to set reasonable expectations.
