Suspension bondage outside the studio will cover prevailing laws around public spaces, how to assess your structures and what kinds of structures to avoid (disclaimer: instructors are not civil engineers, just good observers), common and useful equipment, crowd control and common questions, and will give each student/rigger the opportunity to set a hardpoint, rig a suspension, and practice crowd/bystander control.
Students should be experienced bondage tops/riggers, with a suspension that is fairly quick to do. Everyone will be expected to be clothed, at minimum, as if they were at a public beach, pool, or park. Students are responsible for their own equipment and behavior on public.

Half the class will be inside instruction and half will be outdoor practice, with the location to be announced in class. Carpooling is encouraged, and we will have some seats available for those using public transit.

Recommended equipment (in addition to your usual suspension gear):

*Load-rated climbing slings in various lengths
*Towel or blanket for ground (helps to define your space)
*Towel/rag/old t-shirt for protecting equipment and structures
    *Extra carabiners
*Water, snacks, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, jacket (weather forecast currently shows possible thunderstorms)

Optional equipment:

*SLR/dSLR camera (something that looks more professional than your cell phone)
    *Load-rated round sling
    *Block & tackle

Please remember that we will be outside, in the elements - rain, shine, wind - and among the public. It is expected that everyone remain clothed as if you're at the beach with your extended family.
Please also remember that photos of you may be taken by strangers without your consent. We will discuss how to handle this, but we can't prevent it from happening. Remember to bring water, lots of it.

All sexes, genders, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, relationship orientations, religions are welcome and celebrated.

Cost at the door: $45.
No late entry will be allowed after 10:15am due to the safety information at the beginning of this workshop. The class will leave Gallery Erato for the offsite location at approximately 11:30am.
Attendance is limited to 30 people.

About the Educator:

Trouble: Since joining the Seattle kink scene in 2011, Trouble has become an advocate for enthusiastic consent, risk mitigation, inclusion, and (almost) all things rope or latex. Whether teaching solo or with a group, her focus is on making sure everyone's needs are addressed, doing dangerous things well, and feeling good while doing them. Her dynamic and interactive teaching style incorporates multiple learning styles, ensuring that all students have a chance to be heard, participate, and get information specific to their interests.

Outside of teaching, Trouble leads a women's rope group and is the visual art manager for Seattle Erotic Art Festival.

She's called Trouble for a reason. Don't say we didn't warn you.

This event is presented by the Pan Eros Foundation. Please go to for more information.
