5 Seattle neighborhood venues, 5 nights of shows – Respect My Region & All Star Opera are proud to present the “Seattle World Tour.” From January 9th through the 13th, All Star Opera is joining forces with 15 Northwest artists to bring live music to your ears and gather clothing and monetary donations for Mary’s Place, a local organization serving homeless women, children, and families in emergency situations. From Greenwood (1/9), Fremont (1/10), Belltown (1/11), and Capitol Hill (1/12), to Columbia City (1/13), folks from all over the city have the opportunity to both support local music and give back to your communities, at each show. All profits from official Seattle World Tour merchandise (t-shirts and posters) will go directly to Mary’s Place, as well.

An eclectic array of talent and musical genres will be on display: All Star Opera, Bad News Botanists, Bambu Bokony, Baywitch, Camila Recchio, Cold Comfort, Decent At Best, DJ J-Nasty, Emma Lee Toyoda, Guayaba, LA, Remember Face, Retrospecter, SUS, Taylar Elizza Beth, and The Landmarks will all be lending their talents to the series. The “Seattle World Tour” is truly a rare communal event, in which local hip-hop, jazz, rock, electronic, mad girl rock, indie rock, folk, R&B, and more will merge together ceremoniously, over the course of five days.

All Star Opera

Bohemian Hip Hop/Jazz

At the surface level, All Star Opera is a 6-piece hip-hop/jazz band based out of Seattle – dig a little deeper, and you will find a collective of artists balancing a diversity of talents and influences.

The band is fronted by MC's (and lifelong friends) Oz & Flow Carter. Supplying the backbone of tight rhythmic grooves are drummer Tylee Toyoda and bassist, Keith Gledhill. Heavy licks + tasteful melodies echoed out by guitarist Will Greenburg, or the soulful chords produced by singer-songwriter, Seth From Above on keys. Although the "Opera" in the band name is just a metaphor, all 6 of their voices can be heard on hooks and/or backup vocals. MC, Flow Carter, gets down on trumpet when he is not rapping, both on record and live.

Voted 'Best Band In Seattle' in August 2017 via the Seattle Weekly, ASO has come a long way in a relatively short amount of time.

Cold Comfort:

Cold Comfort cultivated their rambunctious, upbeat rock and roll playing together around the bonfires and beach parties of their youth. Growing up together in Port Townsend, Washington, Cold Comfort’s music evolved and matured to reflect the enduring bonds of its bandmates. Their songs crackle with life, possessing a depth of emotion uncommon to the work of songwriters so young. Ringing guitars, steely percussion, and infectious rhythms are crafted into a refined sound, yet the feeling is still raw. Effortless soulful howls punctuate soaring vocal harmonies, while lyrics dance from bruisingly honest to gleefully irreverent.
