Rope Handling with Webs
Sat, Jun 22 from 2pm - 4pm
Webs are both beautiful and functional, providing a chaotic yet secure net around the body using various directional frictions. They’re also a wonderful tool for learning how to interact more effectively with rope. This class will use a demo and a hands-on portion to teach tops how to maintain tension, hook and pull rope with the fingers, and “paint” rope on the skin, all while building a restrictive web around their partner's body. Bottoms will gain insight into monitoring their body in rope through specific sensations and feeling for proper rope tension.
Prerequisites:
Tops should know how to tie a non-collapsing single column. Knowledge of half hitches, munter hitches, and rope joining is recommended. Bottoms should be comfortable in rope and be able to monitor their bodies for potential issues.
Equipment needed:
(3-4) 25-30’ lengths of 4-7mm rope (natural fiber recommended*)
An emergency rope-cutting tool, such as EMT shears or a diving hook
*Many of the frictions used in this class are designed for the texture of natural fiber. Synthetic ropes are acceptable but may not hold frictions as well for these techniques.

About the Educators:
BlamingLilith: Roxanne (she/her) has been tying since 2016 and topping suspension since 2018. She ties as a creative and social outlet and teaches because she adores showing people what they can do with rope. Among other rope pursuits, she co-hosted the Witchy Rope Enthusiasts Group in Seattle for four years and is an advocate for empowering tops of marginalized identities. Despite being a safety nerd, she loves exploring with her friends and her rope kit, and she’s usually down to try that wild idea. Find her on Fet @Blaming_Lilith and IG @BlamingLilith.
Em (she/her) joined the PNW kink scene in 2010 started suspending in 2017. She's a switch who loves rope and has presented at Conception, Subspace, and Pan Eros. You can find her as Mz_Magpie on IG and Fetlife. Or Magpiekink.com
