Enjoy an evening music and dance with the sultry, seductive and dynamic Latin rhythms of Alma y Azucar paired with very special guest performer, Flamenco extraordinaire Deseo Carmin. Alma y Azúcar masterfully integrates beloved Latin rhythmic styles–Cha Cha, Bossa Nova, Latin Jazz, Son and Salsa with more contemporary influences, resulting in “Latin music for everyone.” With Alma Villegas at the front, the band also features esteemed Seattle musicians Fred Hoadley (piano, tres, backup vocals), Steve Okimoto (bass), Ricardo Guity (percussion, backup vocals), Steve Motsovoy (trumpet, backup vocals), Roy Brown (trombone) and Lance Lu (shekere). Deseo Carmin is fiery fusion of latin, jazz/funk and rock with spicy flamenco. Deseo interprets favorite Latin American and original songs with a style that is unique as well as energetic.
