Drummer/percussionist Jen Gilleran invites Sean Lane (drums, percussion), Neil Welch (sax), Joe Malcomb (bass), and Erica Carlson (projectionist) into GRID for the first installment of a semi-monthly Music-To-Film series at the Royal Room. Tonight, we will explore work and travel sounds captured on film by Alan Lomax and others. Composed and improvised pieces draw inspiration from the movement of physical labor, the sounds of tools, voice and early machinery that drove necessity through music, giving art to work.
The Royal Room is All Ages until 10 pm.
Please note: tickets do not guarantee a seat to shows at the Royal Room. For sold out shows standing room may be the only available space. Please come early to ensure you get a table. Reservations can be made for those who are coming for dinner as well as the show.
