Guitarist and Seattle native Brad Shepik returns to The Royal Room with Joe Doria (Hammond B3) and Tarik Abouzied (drums) of McTuff in support of his new album “Top Down” (JLC Records 2016).
Equilibrium consists of Norwegian vocalist/saxophonist Sissel Vera Pettersen, Danish guitarist Mikkel Ploug and Belgian reed player Joachim Badenhorst. The trio synthesize elements of jazz, folk/world, classical, minimalism and the avant-garde in a mixture of free improvisation and original compositions. The group has received critical acclaim from all over the world for their 3 studio albums released on Canadian label Songlines Recordings. Sissel Vera Pettersen has worked with the likes of: Chick Corea, Lionel Loueke, John Hollenbeck, Marylin Mazur, Marc Ducret. Mikkel Ploug is known for his work with saxophonists Mark Turner and Loren Stillman. Joachim Badenhorst plays with the Han Bennik trio and with Tony Malaby’s Novola.
Please note: Tickets do not guarantee seating during shows at the Royal Room. For sold out shows standing room may be the only available space. Please come early to ensure you get a table. Reservations can be made for those who are coming for dinner as well as the show. The Royal Room is all ages until 10pm.
