4/20 MADNESS! An Evening of 1920's jazz inspired by the Devil's Weed!

This event has passed.

Doors at 6:00pm

Tickets: $10 adv/dos

Jimi Hendrix wasn't the first musician to smoke weed.  Long before the hippies made the scene, 1920s jazz cats were lighting up and blowing hot!  The great Louis Armstrong smoked marijuana every day, but he called it "pot", "gage", "muta", and "muggles" (Yep!  Over a half century before that boy wizard showed up.)

Come join fellow "vipers" (weed enthusiasts) and jazz fans for a special evening celebrating this fabulous plant and its influence on the music of the 1920s and 30s.  Hear some of the best Traditional Jazz musicians in the Northwest perform in two HOT ensembles:  Washboard Cutups and The Good Herb Jazz Band.  Featuring Lance Buller (Lance Buller & the Monarchs), Ray Skjelbred (protegée of piano greats Earl 'Fatha' Hines, Joe Sullivan, and Jess Stacey), Mike Daugherty (Yes Yes Boys, Blue 4 Trio, The Black Crabs) Jacob Zimmerman (Earshot Jazz Emerging Artist 2013) and more slick cats than you can shake a stick of tea at!

Please note: Tickets do not guarantee seating during shows at the Royal Room. For sold out shows standing room may be the only available space. If advanced tickets are sold out, limited tickets will be available at the door on a first come, first serve basis. Please come early to ensure you get a table. Reservations can be made for those who are coming for dinner as well as the show. The Royal Room is All Ages until 10pm.
